Painting has always been a pleasure for me. Often it has been a struggle too. But when I have gone back into my studio and looked at the result of what I did the previous day and felt the satisfaction of achievement, I have experienced great pleasure.
I was born and brought up in Washington, D.C. My work was exhibited there in the Corcoran Gallery and the Smithsonian Institute.
At the beginning of 1950 I moved to New York City. One of my paintings was included in the exhibit “American Painting Today, 1950” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
